Jon & Kate

I keep seeing all the tabloids, commercials and blog posts regarding the reality show, Jon & Kate Plus 8.

Tonight I got to see the commercial about the next episode with Emeril Lagasse as a guest.

Am I the only person who thinks that all the tabloid photos and rumors of impending divorce is just part of a scripted publicity stunt to maintain and increase public interest in this family.

After seeing the comment about Jon and his female friends, it was just suddenly so clear that all this was part of the grander plan concocted be directors who want to guarantee that the whole world will be watching as the family implodes. Well - the whole world minus ME! I'm so not interested.

Tell me what you think...

I've seen a few bloggers that cover reality TV write that they also think that this is a publicity stunt. In some ways I think this is worse than if it's true because that means that both the husband and wife really will exploit their family for money no matter what the personal cost. That said, I didn't watch the show before, and this new "scandal" isn't going to be enough to make me tune in.

I'm one of the cynics too. I believe it's all a publicity stunt to bring more attention to the show and get more viewers.

It's sad, but even if us cynics are right, it's still going to take a toll on the family.

My husband liked watching this show. I couldn't stand it. I have absolutely no desire to watch a marriage self-destruct. I find it hard to believe these people would actually agree to doing a show like this! TV these days is just horrible!

I'm a mom of twins, granted I don't have sextuplets, but I can't imagine exploiting my kids like they are. I don't care if its just taping their daily life. I mean the episode with their birthday party and all the paparazzi. That's not healthy to their kids, or the kids that came to the party.

I do agree the tabloid drama is a ploy for more attention. Not only for the show but for the book tour too.

I used to like this show, but now I can't bring myself to watch it anymore.
